Animal Crossing amiibo can provide quite a lot of in-game fun in New Horizon, from photo-shoots on Harv’s Island, through to heart-to-hearts over a coffee in the Roost. With many of them also being compatible with a number of other games too, it’s easy to see why so many people love them.
Whether you want to use them for that, or, like Blathers, you just enjoy having a collection of cute critters to interact with, there’s no denying that amiibo figures are pretty popular. With Animal Crossing in particular, there are a lot of amiibo and it can be hard to keep up with them all. So, for your convenience, we’ve made this handy guide to all of the Animal Crossing amiibo figures, including details about the functionality of each one.
For the sake of brevity, we’re intentionally not going to cover all of the amiibo cards, because there are now hundreds of them, but this is a comprehensive list of all the figures that are currently available to buy. Whether you’re looking to patch the gaps in your collection or are just curious to see what your favourite character’s amiibo can do, we hope this guide will be helpful.
Here is every Animal Crossing amiibo figure in alphabetical order. Please note that we have not mentioned generic amiibo functionality for games like Skyrim or Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity where any amiibo will generate a non-specific reward. All the features mentioned below are examples of amiibo functionality that give you something directly related to the series, or at least, to Animal Crossing in general.
Here’s a comprehensive list of every Animal Crossing amiibo, with more details below:
Blathers amiibo
Of course the entomophobic museum curator has his own amiibo! It’s hard not to like this absent-minded owl, and if you love collecting amiibo just as much as you love collecting bugs, fish, fossils and paintings, you’ll want to get your hands on a Blathers amiibo.

This alpaca is quite the handyman. Many of us first met him as he was sleeping on the job in Animal Crossing: New Leaf and then, later, in New Horizons, we were shooting his wedding photos. Digby amiibo
It’s Isabelle’s twin brother: Digby! Though he is somewhat overshadowed by his sister’s popularity, he still managed to get his own amiibo figure. He played a pretty big role in Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer, where you worked alongside him at the Happy Home Academy. Unfortunately, he has yet to appear in New Horizons and it doesn’t look as though he will be added in future (though Isabelle has mentioned him).

- Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival: Digby can be unlocked as a playable character.

Isabelle (Smash Bros.) amiibo
As a reflection of Isabelle’s popularity, it’s no surprise that she is one of only two Animal Crossing characters who are playable in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. To tie in with her inclusion in this game, a dedicated Isabelle Smash Bros. amiibo was released, which depicts Isabelle as she appears in her Smash Bros. render.

We first met Kicks back in Animal Crossing: City Folk (a.k.a. Let’s Go to the City) where he was a simple shoe-shine boy, then he opened up his own shoe shop in New Leaf, before venturing out to sell shoes on the road in New Horizon. We’re sure many of you will have encountered him at this point.

Mabel amiibo
Who’s the first character you think of when someone mentions an anthropomorphic blue hedgehog? Well, it’s probably Sonic, but I bet Mabel is the second. It’s hard to dislike this friendly tailor from the Able Sisters shop. Though it is a shame that only Mable got an amiibo, and not her sisters Sable and Labelle, this is still one fans will want to add to their collections.
The Mabel amiibo can unlock the following features:

- Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival: Mable can be unlocked as a playable character.

Resetti amiibo
Oh no… I think I forgot to save last time I played. That means Resetti is going to come and give me a verbal lashing. Wait, what? Oh, he’s been fired. That’s why he didn’t show up (not properly anyway) in Animal Crossing: New Horizons? Huh. Poor guy… or at least that’s what we wrote originally! Thankfully, Resetti has since returned to New Horizons.

Timmy and Tommy amiibo
Fun fact: Timmy and Tommy are not actually Tom Nook’s children. In Animal Crossing: Wild World, they will confide in you that though many wrongly assume them to be his descendants, they are actually just two young racoons that work for him for 14 hours a day, seven days a week… Still, they don’t complain and at least they seem to manage the shop on their own now.
These two share an amiibo and here’s what it does:
- Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer: you can meet Timmy and Tommy and decorate their home.
- Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival: Timmy and Tommy can be unlocked as a playable character.

Tom Nook amiibo
Ah, old Tom Nook. Ultimately, all the world’s wealth begins and ends with him. Undoubtedly part of the 1%, Tom Nook got where he is today through hard work and just a touch of exploitive child labour. He’s one of the most iconic characters in Animal Crossing and so it’s no surprise that he also has an amiibo.

- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe: unlocks the game’s Animal Crossing Mii costume.
- Super Smash Bros. Ultimate: unlocks the Tom Nook spirit.
Villager amiibo
Villager was the first ever Animal Crossing amiibo. Made to coincide with the character’s appearance in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS/Wii U, it is so far the only amiibo figure made of any human characters in the series – presumably because of the near infinite variety that surrounds them! The amiibo is used in fairly different ways to some of the others.
With a Villager amiibo, you can access the following:
- Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer: unlocks a golden Villager statue.
- Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival: unlocks a golden Villager statue.
- Animal Crossing: New Leaf – amiibo Welcome: Wisp will come and visit you in his RV.
- Animal Crossing: New Horizons: unlocks a poster of Villager.
- Mario Kart 8: Unlocks the game’s Animal Crossing Mii costume.
- Super Smash Bros. for 3DS/Wii U: creates a Villager Figure Player you can fight, train and store in your amiibo. It can be transferred (via amiibo) between different versions.
- Chibi-Robo: Zip Lash: unlocks a figure of Chibi-Robo posing like Villager (functionality with Villager amiibo can only be unlocked if you also have a Chibi-Robo amiibo).
- Yoshi’s Woolly World: unlocks Villager Yoshi as a playable character.
- Super Mario Maker: unlocks a Villager Mystery Mushroom costume.
- Poochy & Yoshi’s Woolly World: unlocks Villager Yoshi as a playable character.
- Style Savvy: Styling Star: unlocks an Animal Crossing themed pattern.
- WarioWare Gold: Wario will make a Villager sketch for you, which you can sell.
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe: unlocks the game’s Animal Crossing Mii costume.
- Super Smash Bros. Ultimate: creates a Villager Figure Player you can fight, train and store in your amiibo.
Animal Crossing amiibo cards
This guide has covered every Animal Crossing amiibo figure, but on top of these, there are also hundreds of Animal Crossing amiibo cards, which cover almost every character in the series (with a few exceptions). Generally speaking, here are all the features that these cards can unlock:

Sanrio x Animal Crossing amiibo cards
One last night for ardent collectors of Animal Crossing amiibo is that Nintendo collaborated with Sanrio for a set of amiibo cards which could unlock exclusive crossover pieces of furniture and brand new villagers. These have less functionality than regular amiibo cards, but you can use them for the following:
- Animal Crossing: New Leaf – amiibo Welcome: the character on the card will visit you in their RV and can be persuaded to become a resident in your town.
- Animal Crossing New Horizons: the character on the card will pose for photographs on Harv’s Island, the Roost, Happy Home Paradise, or they can be invited to stay at your campsite and become a resident on your island.
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe: unlocks the game’s Animal Crossing Mii suit.
- Style Savvy: Styling Star: unlocks an Animal Crossing themed pattern.
